Anne Patricia Webb

Born Brentford Middlesex 29th November 1938

My eldest sister Anne was the first child to my parents, she is a talented artist and amateur actress in the local theatre company.

She married Allan Davy in 1968 in Richmond Registry office, sadly Allan died in 1996 in hospital in Fulham where he had gone for specialist treatment. Allan had been a useful boxer in the navy, he was very quiet and kept himself to himself, a fierce loyal family man, he was also good to me, helped me out in the early days with dcorating and the tools, I still have a Hamilton pasting brush he gave me, goodness knows how old it is now.

Like all, Geraldine and Julia, my sisters we have always been close and I know that we would all do anything to help each other out.

Allan’s parents were Arthur Reginald Davy born in Westcombe Park Greenwich in 1907 and Annie Appleby.

We first find Allan’s father Arthur in the 1911 census at 4 years old living with his family his father William George down as a boilers makers helper, his mother Rose, his elder sister Ethel Rose aged 12, elder brother Sydney George aged 8 and younger sister Edith aged 2.

Their address is recorded as 30, Idenden Cottages, Tunnel Avenue, East Greenwich.

There could have been other children born after so this only covers up to the 1911 census.

This starting this page I have not found Oct 2020 two other children that would have been Arthur’s siblings, see below.

Not found before as I believe there was an error in the spelling “Charles Davey” instead of Davy. There is a baptism record and we can be virtually certain that these are all same family. Not confirmed but I believe this may be death record of William:

In the 1881 Census Williams father, George is down as a “Cable Finisher” (Telegaffer)
